Middle Eastern Vegetarian Patties (Falafel)

Ever since i tried this in the food court, i keep thinking about its taste and i fall in love with this Middle Eastern Snacks. However, yeah i know this is not TOOOO healthy as it is deep fried food, but it is ok to have it once a while !! LOL i am trying to persuade myself in having the evil food..

Ingredients:

Chick peas * 1 3/4 cups (soak overnight)

Garlic * 2 cloves

Onion * 1/4 pcs

Celery * 100g (cut into small cubes)

Cumin powder * 1 tbsp

Salt * 1/2 tsp

Black Pepper * 1/2 tsp

Baking Soda * 1/2 tsp

Flour * 3 tbsp

Cilantro flakes * 1 tsp

Lemon Juice * 1 tsp

Olive Oil * 3 tbsp

How to do:

  1. Steam the chick pea until soft.
  2. Put everything into the blender machine and start blending with adding little water at a time if the mixture is too dry.
  3. Do not add too much water until it become a puree. Try to make it as dry as possible as long as the blender is able to blend everything and mix it all together.
  4. Start shaping the patties, or you can do it in a ball shape. Each patty is about 15-20g.
  5. Heat up the oil and start deep fry it.
